8 Gaming Accessories Under $50

By Voltpine ·

Upgrading a gaming setup doesn't have to mean a new console or GPU. A better controller, a lighter mouse or a decent mic changes how games feel day to day, and none of the picks below cost more than $50.

We stuck to things with clear, useful specs: Hall effect sticks that don't rely on worn-out contacts, a 1000Hz mouse, a mic that works over USB without drivers, and a few smaller add-ons.

Buying tips

Check compatibility first.
Controllers list the systems they support. The GameSir Switch controller above is wired and made for Switch 2 and PC; the tri-mode one also works with phones.
Hall effect sticks and drift.
Standard sticks wear down over time and can start drifting. Hall effect sticks read position with magnets, so there's less to wear out.
Polling rate and DPI.
A 1000Hz polling rate means the mouse or controller reports its position 1000 times a second. High DPI numbers matter less than a sensor that tracks consistently; most players use far lower settings than the maximum.
Wired vs wireless audio.
Bluetooth earbuds add some delay. A low-latency mode helps for casual and mobile games; for competitive play, a wired connection is still the safest bet.
Mic placement beats mic price.
Keep a USB mic close to your mouth and away from keyboard noise, and use the mute button when you're not talking.
Mobile controllers and phone cases.
A USB-C phone controller grips the phone directly, so a thick case may need to come off. Check the supported phone length (105 to 213mm for the GameSir above).

Orders of $35 or more ship free in the US, so a controller plus a small add-on like thumb grips usually crosses the line. Every order has 30-day returns.
